The Work of the Gods in the Material World
22.12.2009 - 14:54
Let’s return to José dos Santos in Recife and see how the gods and goddess of Rome control his life. Most people would believe that the gods are in “the heavens.” This is not true. The gods are part of the material world. It is just that you cannot see them. You can, however, see their works. You need only look to the wars on the planet to the poverty and the famines, to the nations that have enjoyed wealth and power as well as to those who have seen quite the opposite to see the works of the gods. And, you can look to those who are favored and those not to also see their works. Let us begin to look more in detail.
José dos Santos is clearly not greatly favored by the gods. His success in the material world has been very marginal. After getting fired from the Boa Esperança Bus Company about a year ago being drunk on the job, José spent quite a period of time unemployed. Then he got a job with Itapemirim, another bus company, and began driving on the route to Salvador and back. Salvador is over 800 kilometers to the south. It is a very hard trip and a very hard life for José. A bus driver on the long routes can’t really maintain a relationship or a family because he is away from home so long. José doesn’t even really have a home. He has women on the route. José’s life is perfectly normal for someone of his background in Brazil.
Someone who has long been favored by the gods is Silvio Berlusconi, not only Italy’s third richest man with personal assets estimated at 9,4 billion dollars but also the current prime minister of Italy, a position which he has held for three times. Berlusconi is not only known as a lady’s man with an untold number of affairs. He has succeeded in being able to be known for his affairs and in retaining his position as prime minister. Berlusconi’s wife has not particularly enjoyed his numerous affairs with young women and is currently suing for divorce. Even if his wife is currently not favoring him Berlusconi has clearly been favored by the gods for most of his life, certainly far more than José dos Santos, who hasn’t even gotten into the news for his bar brawls.
Or, have the gods starting disfavoring Silvio Berlusconi? One must not forget that he was just in hospital for a few days after a protestor broke his nose during a public rally. Several hundred thousand protestors clamored for his removal from office in Rome on December 5th, 2009. You may not be surprised to hear that Berlusconi has fallen into disfavor with Janus. Janus is, among other things, the Roman god of doors or portals. This means that Janus is responsible for beginnings and ends, whether these beginnings and ends are personal or even those of an entire civilization. If I were Silvio Berlusconi, I would think deeply about the meaning of the attack by the protestor and would be gravely worried, if I wished to continue my political career, for Janus is giving Mr. Berlusconi a clear sign through the protests.
How can Janus influence such an event so greatly? A god has little trouble entering a human body and acting through it. Energetically speaking, humans are full of holes. Wherever a human refuses to be him or herself empty spaces result. Indeed, you not need to look at a rather esoteric branch of modern physics to find black holes. Rather, it might be best to look right at home, in our own energy system. There, you will find many and large “black holes” waiting for other beings to fill them. This works well for the gods.
You see, Christian society is, spiritually speaking, the culture of self-denial. The greatest Christian spiritual goal is “not to be there.” I often call this process “self-evacuation” or “self-leveling.” This seems to be the goal of most humans around me. Energetically, self-evacuation occurs by creating holes. One could phrase it another way: “Where you don’t like yourself, disappear.”
It is therefore not difficult for a god to enter the system of empty energetic spaces in a human being and move him as the god wishes. From Berlusconi’s perspective, it is not time to step down. If a man of such position and previous success doesn’t wish to do so, he needs to be nudged, and this is clearly happening.
Why would a god wish to nudge Berlusconi out of office? Well, you see the part of Janus that is doing the nudging works as part of what we call the “Peter and Paul Complex.” The Church is made of several large “energy bundles” at its deeper energy levels. These “energy bundles” are the columns that hold up the Church and make it as successful as it is with the people it serves. Peter and Paul as well as the “Maria Complex”, made up of Mary Magdalene and Mother Mary, make up the strongest columns. It would be very wrong, however, to believe that the “Peter” of the Church is in reality Peter the fisherman from the Bible. The fisherman story is a very nice and popular cover for a massive energy being there to serve the Church in its goals with the humans it serves and who serve it. The original Peter and Paul have been largely supplemented with Roman gods and other beings that came along with the demise of the Roman religion and needed new employment. Janus, among others, found such employment with the Peter and Paul Complex.
325 A.D. was the point where this change occurred. Before 325 A.D. the state was not behind the religion. Rather, the Roman Empire prosecuted religion. When you create a state religion to keep order among the people, you need energetic strength to create this order. The new credo for the Roman Empire, “one thought – one mind”, needed massive energetic support for the massive thought control intended. Of course, the threat of death is a strong incentive to maintain standardization of belief. But in the Christian culture of martyrdom, where dying a martyr’s death was considered a big plus in getting into heaven, death was certainly not a great enough incentive.
So you needed strong enforcement. Janus was one of the perfect gods for the job. Christianity needed powerful foundations to create and maintain the faith necessary. The job of such foundations was to maintain the faith against all odds for the centuries to come. These foundations have done well. Almost 1700 years later the believers still believe. Of course, many are leaving the Church today, but the faith is still strong among so many millions around the world. One needs only experience the five million people visiting the Vatican yearly not only from Europe but also from such far-away places as the Philippines, Latin America and India to get an idea of the strength of the faith.
The Peter and Paul Complex frowns on the publicity Berlusconi has been getting for his sexual affairs, particularly with teenagers. Berlusconi is now over 70. Such behavior for a head of state residing in the same city as the Pope doesn’t suit well. Berlusconi’s behavior has been getting too much press (even if he owns a good part of Italian media, his ratings have not been high recently). From the perspective of the gods, it is time for retirement.
You see, Berlusconi has not been respecting Janus’ rules. Janus is the two-headed god, which means that one head looks in one direction while the other looks in the other. This means that Janus creates illusions. Illusions are necessary for Christianity. One creates a pleasant, well-wishing, and often smiling surface. Underneath, no one knows the unseen depths. You see, no one is to know the truths lurking in the depths. They are the secret. Christianity is a religion of the Unknown. No one is supposed to reveal its mysteries. They are the stuff of faith. Only the gods know. In monotheistic terms, “only God knows.”
Mr. Berlusconi broke Janus’ rules, and Janus seeks revenge. Berlusconi flaunted his liaisons with his teenage idols too often in front of the press. It didn't sit well for the Italian prime minister to act like a movie mogul in a Christian society. In Italy, one's private life is considered one's own affair. But Mr. Berlusconi went too far. He was no longer "of the people." He considered himself so far above the people and gave a demonstration so disrespectful of the mores of his society that the gods decided it was time for him to go. Of course, Berlusconi is still in power. We will have to see how his career fares from this point onward. The gods will continue to create events so that humans live their will.
You may not like the idea that humans live the will of the gods. But humans have been doing this for eons of time. Why should this principle have changed with the onset of Christianity as a state religion? Before we examine our future relationship with the gods, let us now return to the life of someone far less famous than the Italian prime minister.
José dos Santos needs Janus to lead his life as it is. José professes to be a Christian, and it is his goal to be a good Christian. José can’t go to Church every Sunday because of his job, but he does try to adhere to Christian thought. Of course, he “slips” over and over again with his affairs, drinking and also occasional fights. José’s ideal of himself is Christian. Yet his life is often very less than Christian.
You see, there are two José’s. José curses quite often. Cursing is not Christian, and he knows that. Every time he curses, José admonishes himself deeply for cursing. He feels that at least that is Christian behavior. He is deeply worried, however, for José wants to go to heaven when he dies, and he knows that his behavior is not going to get him there unless he changes.
So José lives in the constant illusion that he is going to change soon and become a good Christian. He somehow hopes to earn enough money or even better, to win enough money in his favorite lottery, the Caixa Econômica Federal, or by betting on cockfights. With the money, José hopes to be able to stop driving the bus on the long routes and to settle down and live a proper life. Of course, José knows that betting is also not particularly Christian, but he is stuck economically, and cannot get out.
Winning enough money to change his life into a “Christian model” is, of course, never going to work for José. It is an illusion, and for this illusion to be maintained, José needs the two-headed god Janus. Janus will keep José thinking he is going to “make it” some day. Of course, José never will “make it,” and that’s sad. But this is how life works. In our culture people think things that are not true all of their lives. They hold onto their illusions and believe it is better to have them rather than to face the truth.
The gods serve us to maintain our illusions. It would be a very great illusion to think that they only manipulate us. We want our black holes. We do not want to be our selves in the way we truly are. And, we do not want to be truly in control of our lives. Christian society as it is, is our society. So far, we have wanted it that way over eons of time.
It is about to change, however.
It would appear that there are two monotheistic "gods" in the Bible that we know. The Old Testament depicts a judgmental and punishing God. The New Testament speaks of a loving God. It would be more appropriate, in reality, to speak about different levels of "God." The many gods and other beings that make up the Old Testament God are simply one level of the one being. Higher levels of the one being are now descending onto earth.
You might say that a "cleanup job" is beginning. This cleanup job is part of Mr. Berlusconi's woes. It is not only that the gods do not tolerate his behavior; a good part of the Italian public does not, either. And so, they are demanding his removal. If he doesn't go on his own accord, more incidents like his recent attack will occur.
The change that is occurring on our planet is painful. We do not want to see the truth. We demand that Janus continue to help us in maintaining our deep illusions. We want the two-headed god to maintain our two-faced existence. This is no longer possible, because the higher levels of consciousness are truly descending upon us. The result, for the present, is increased pain.
